The Gift of Grace
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, Grace is defined as "Unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification...a virtue coming from God...a special favor : privilege". Grace is a gift, a gift exclusively given by God. It isn't something that can be earned. But we as Christians tend to misuse this gift of grace. You know the type of Christian. Maybe you are that type of Christian. I know I have been, and sometimes still am. Often, we do things that we know are not in the will of God or even things that go against God. Yet, we know that our God is a forgiving God, so we figure that we can do these things and just ask for forgiveness. This is not God's intention in giving us grace. When we use grace this way, we are taking advantage of the love, forgiveness, and mercy God grants us. We are in essence taking advantage of God. This is not the kind of Christian I want to be, do you? We should accept God's grace, while at the same time appreciating what an awesome gift it is.
